Visit Wat Mahathat a highly revered Buddhist temple located in Ayutthaya, Thailand. This temple, which dates back to the 14th century, is known for its stunning architecture and rich history. First, we'll visit Wihan Phra Mongkhon Bophit, a temple known for its massive bronze Buddha image, which sits inside a Ho Trai (scripture hall). The temple is located within the grounds of Wat Phra Si Sanphet, another important temple in Ayutthaya.
Wat Phra Si Sanphet is considered one of the most beautiful temples in Ayutthaya and is known for its three chedis (stupas), which are decorated with intricate carvings and gold leaf. The temple was once the royal chapel of the Ayutthaya kingdom and was used for coronation ceremonies and other important royal events.
And now! for the highlight of the tour, visit the bustling Ayutthaya floating market to shop and have a wonderful lunch!
As you approach the market, you'll see a series of small boats and vendors selling a variety of goods, including souvenirs, clothing, and local handicrafts.
As you wander through the market, you'll have the chance to try some of the delicious local food, such as spicy tom yum soup and grilled chicken satay. You can also sample some of the fresh fruits and vegetables that are grown in the surrounding area.
Moving on to Wat Chai Watthanaram, Built in the 17th century, this temple is a testament to the grandeur and artistry of the Ayutthaya period and is a must-see destination for anyone visiting the area.
Upon arriving at the temple, you'll have the chance to explore its grounds and learn about its history and cultural significance. You'll see the temple's main chedi, which stands at over 90 feet tall and is surrounded by smaller chedis and stupas. You'll also have the chance to see the temple's main hall, which is adorned with intricate carvings and paintings depicting scenes from Buddhist mythology.
As you wander through the temple, you'll have the opportunity to take in the beautiful surroundings and learn more about the temple's architecture and design. You'll also have the chance to meet with local monks and learn about their way of life and their role in the temple community.
